Built for heavier loads and more demanding trips
The Fjellpulken Expedition Pulk Shaft is our strongest pulk shaft, developed for heavier loads, longer journeys and use where greater demands are placed on your equipment.
While the Touring model uses fiberglass tubes, the Expedition is built with solid fiberglass rods and a reinforced crossbar. The result is a highly robust shaft for those carrying heavier loads or wanting maximum strength in the connection between themselves and the pulk.
The rigid construction provides good control of the pulk in varied terrain, on side slopes and downhill. Despite its stronger construction, the shaft can still be folded for easier transport and storage.
Why choose the Expedition Pulk Shaft?
-
Our strongest pulk shaft – developed for heavier loads and more demanding use.
-
Solid fiberglass rods – provide a stronger construction than the fiberglass tubes used in the Touring model.
-
Reinforced crossbar – adds strength where loads and forces can become greater.
-
Good control with heavier loads – the rigid construction provides a direct and predictable connection between you and the pulk.
-
Foldable design – the robust construction still folds down for easier transport and storage.
-
Designed for Fjellpulken pulks – developed for use with our pulk range and harnesses.
-
Can also be used with other sleds – with Fjellpulken strap-on shaft attachments, the shaft can be fitted to a range of other pulks and utility sleds.
When the load gets heavier
The heavier the pulk becomes, the more important the connection between you and your load becomes.
A rigid shaft helps control the pulk when travelling downhill, limits unwanted sideways movement and provides better control when the terrain becomes uneven.
The Expedition Pulk Shaft is built for trips where both you and your equipment will be working harder – from hauling heavier winter equipment to longer tours and expeditions.
Touring or Expedition?
Choose the Touring Pulk Shaft for general touring, family trips and normal loads. It is the natural all-round choice for most users.
Choose the Expedition Pulk Shaft when carrying heavier loads, travelling in more demanding conditions or when you simply want our strongest pulk shaft construction.
Why doesn't the current shaft have suspension?
Previous generations of Fjellpulken pulk shafts featured two-way suspension in the handles. Today's shafts use a fixed construction, providing a more direct and predictable connection between you and the pulk.
The change is based on our experience using pulk shafts in varied terrain, snow conditions and with different loads.
