Traverse 145
A compact expedition pulk built for demanding journeys
The Traverse 145 is made for winter journeys where durability, load security and reliability matter. It combines the manageable size of a 145 cm pulk with the reinforced construction and features we expect from a true expedition model.
With a recommended packing volume of around 300 litres, there is plenty of room for food, fuel, camping equipment and winter clothing. At the same time, its compact dimensions make it easier to handle than a larger expedition pulk – particularly in varied and technical terrain.
Why choose the Traverse 145?
-
Built for demanding use – reinforced construction and durable materials make the Traverse 145 well suited to expeditions, long winter journeys and heavier loads.
-
Compact expedition size – substantial carrying capacity without the extra length of a larger expedition pulk.
-
Stable and easy to manoeuvre – the wider rear section adds stability, while the shaped front helps the pulk move through uneven snow and over obstacles.
-
Extra protection for your gear – a heavy-duty ripstop cover with a 15,000 mm water column, YKK zipper and secure compression straps protect your equipment from snow and weather.
-
Replaceable runners – designed for hard use and easier long-term maintenance.
-
Designed and developed in Norway – based on more than 60 years of Fjellpulken experience.
Expedition capability in a manageable size
An expedition pulk needs to do more than simply carry equipment. When you are travelling for days or weeks in winter conditions, the pulk becomes an important part of your equipment. It needs to carry substantial loads, protect your gear and withstand repeated use in demanding terrain.
The Traverse 145 is the most compact model in our Traverse range. Its 145 cm hull makes it a good choice when manoeuvrability matters, while the 46 cm width and reinforced construction provide a stable platform for heavier loads.
This combination also makes the Traverse 145 a versatile choice beyond traditional expeditions. It is equally at home on longer mountain trips, winter hunting trips and other journeys where equipment weight and demanding conditions place greater demands on the pulk.
The cover is made from durable ripstop fabric with a 15,000 mm water column and a heavy-duty 8 mm YKK Vislon zipper. Four 38 mm straps with Duraflex buckles secure the load, while heavy-duty 1000D nylon webbing protects and reinforces the cover.
An aluminium reinforcement strip strengthens the construction, while solid D-rings provide additional options for securing the load or attaching extra pulling assistance when needed.

What else do I need?
For the Traverse 145, we recommend combining the pulk with a Fjellpulken reinforced pulk shaft and expedition harness. This provides a strong and stable connection designed for heavier loads and demanding use.
Add a Packbag to organise and protect your equipment inside the pulk, or use Fjellpulken drybags to keep clothing, sleeping equipment, food and other gear separated and easy to access.
