The Traverse 185 is our largest expedition pulk, made for long journeys and situations where carrying capacity is a priority. With room for large amounts of food, fuel, camping equipment and winter gear, it is designed for expeditions where you need to be self-sufficient for extended periods.

At 185 cm long, the Traverse 185 gives you considerably more space to organise and distribute a large load. The wide hull provides good stability, while the reinforced construction is built to withstand repeated use in demanding winter conditions.

When capacity matters most

The longer the journey, the more important carrying capacity becomes. Food and fuel alone can take up considerable space on an extended expedition, before adding a winter camp, sleeping equipment, spare clothing, safety equipment and everything else you need to remain self-sufficient.

This is where the Traverse 185 comes into its own.

As the largest model in the Traverse range, it is made for journeys where the extra space is genuinely useful. The longer hull gives you more room to organise your equipment and distribute the load, making it particularly well suited to long expeditions, basecamp transport and other winter journeys involving substantial amounts of gear.

The wide profile provides good stability with heavier loads, while the shaped front helps the pulk move through uneven snow and over obstacles. The reinforced construction is designed for demanding use over long distances and through changing winter conditions.

The cover is made from durable ripstop fabric with a heavy-duty 8 mm YKK Vislon zipper. Four 38 mm straps with Duraflex buckles secure the load, while heavy-duty 1000D nylon webbing protects and reinforces the cover.

An aluminium reinforcement strip strengthens the construction, while solid D-rings provide additional options for securing your load or adding pulling assistance when needed.

What else do I need?

For the Traverse 185, we recommend combining the pulk with a Fjellpulken reinforced pulk shaft and expedition harness. This provides a strong and stable connection designed for larger loads and demanding use.

Add a Packbag to organise and protect your equipment inside the pulk, or use Fjellpulken drybags to keep clothing, sleeping equipment, food and other gear separated and easy to access.
